Jewellery designer Martina Hamilton is from Sligo - Sligeach "ás Geilge" means the Shelly Place. The prehistory of Sligo is replete with shellfish midden sites indicating shellfish have played a big part in sustaining the culture in the northwest of Ireland over thousands of years.
Made in sterling silver and gold plate, this necklace hold two separate charms which have a silver side and a yellow gold plated side - they can be worn together or separately.
